State of the Beaches: Four Fresh Brazil Coastal Condition Patterns

Brazil’s most recently refreshed Beach Day API records show four distinct current-condition patterns across a defined four-state comparison set. For the week ahead, the useful product signal is not a national ranking. It is the difference between a 72°F rainy, light-wind record in Espírito Santo and an 80°F clear, 32.7 mph-wind record in Bahia, with two different Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo profiles in between.

A four-state condition comparison

This edition compares one recently refreshed record from each of Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, and Bahia: Praia do Leblon, Praia do Meio, Praia das Pitangueiras, and Praia de Guarajuba. The latest conditions entry for each is dated November 1, 2026.

Praia das PitangueirasSão PauloPartly cloudy73°F4.3 mph89%60
Praia de GuarajubaBahiaClear80°F32.7 mph81%65

These are four record-level snapshots, not a comparison of every beach in each state. Still, the spread demonstrates why a national or regional destination product should retain weather dimensions rather than use one broad coastal label. The four records span 72°F to 80°F, 2.5 mph to 32.7 mph wind, and several returned sky conditions.

The practical difference is in the field combination

Praia do Meio’s entry combines rain showers, 98% humidity, 0.02 inches of precipitation, and a 45 score. Praia de Guarajuba returns clear skies, 80°F, no listed precipitation, 32.7 mph wind, and a 65 score. Neither record is a recommendation. Together, they show why a product should display the dated fields that explain its current beach card instead of presenting a single timeless status.

Praia do Leblon and Praia das Pitangueiras add two further patterns: both are dry in the latest response, but Leblon returns 28.0 mph wind while Pitangueiras returns 4.3 mph. A trip-planning, tourism, rental, or concierge workflow can use that difference to format a more informative local update without claiming that one beach is universally preferable.

Build date-aware coastal experiences

For a product team, the implementation pattern is straightforward: fetch the stable beach profile, read its latest conditions entry, and render the entry date beside the returned weather fields and Beach Day Score. Keep each field available to the interface rather than collapsing temperature, precipitation, humidity, and wind into an unexplained label.

GET /v1/beaches/{id}/
GET /v1/beaches/{id}/conditions/

That approach is useful for destination pages, weekly digests, local recommendation modules, and guest-facing rental tools. It also keeps a product honest about scope. A compact four-record comparison can communicate meaningful current variation without implying coverage of every beach in Brazil.

Data notes

Observation window: November 1, 2026 at 00:00 Pacific through this November 2, 2026 edition. Retrieval date: November 2, 2026. Scope: four recently refreshed Beach Day API records in Brazil, not every beach in Brazil or worldwide. Field caveats: the weather values above are returned conditions fields. Water-quality and ocean-condition fields were null in the latest four entries and were not treated as measurements, negative findings, or safety guidance. This report does not provide safety advice.
